Configure Git access¶
To clone a repository and exchange changes with a PinkSalmon Forgejo or Gitea forge, configure one of these access methods.
| Method | Authentication | Setup |
|---|---|---|
| HTTPS | Your username and a personal access token (PAT) | Configure HTTPS |
| SSH | An SSH key pair whose public key is registered on the forge | Configure SSH |
Both methods let you fetch and push code, within your repository permissions. Choose the one that suits your working environment.
Before you start¶
- Check that Git is installed on your workstation with
git --version. - Sign in to your forge using the PinkSalmon Cloud authentication guide.
- Open a repository your account can access, or create one if your permissions allow it.
The web interface uses SSO. Git commands use the PAT or SSH key configured in the guides above.
